Almost literally a life-saver! After an exhausting journey from the far north of Scotland, we missed the last ferry to Mull. A fortunate recommendation from a local sent us to Linda’s door, and she took us and our dog in. She could not have been more welcoming, though we must have presented a sorry sight!
She very kindly provided a table and chairs, and even cutlery, for us to eat our smuggled in supper!
The accommodation is lovely. Although not quite completed, it is obviously going to be of excellent quality, well – designed and very comfortable. It’s the extra touches that make the difference, the slippers and dressing gowns, and the binoculars at breakfast, to watch the ferry on its way to Mull. (!). The breakfast is excellent too, with the usual choices served at a table overlooking the Sound of Mull. On a glorious day it must be breathtaking. I must mention, in case like me you hadn’t noticed, that it’s a Kosher household, so no pork sausages. Who cares!
So —- can’t recommend Willow Brae highly enough. Friendly, comfortable, and very good value for money. If ever we pass that way again we shall be staying here. And in the meantime I hope you will!

My friend and I thought we were going to have to sleep in our car when Linda came to our rescue. We missed the last ferry to Mull and were looking to stay nearest to the lochaline ferry and Willow Brae was perfect. Our host Linda was so fun and enjoyable to be with it was a shame we had to leave. The king sized bed and waterfall shower were a sight for sore eyes after such a long day in the car. We had a very comfortable rest and breakfast was perfection the next morning with a beautiful view. Thank you again soo much Linda for being an angel and one of the highlights of our trip.

What a beautiful location and a what a wonderful host Linda is! I booked for a nights stay with just a days notice, Linda was very accommodating and made sure my journey up from Leeds was going smoothly during my day of travel.

The accommodation is very homely and cosy, I didn’t arrive till late but was immediately made to feel welcome. My room was immaculate and very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. It was a shame I wasn’t staying for longer. Will definitely have to come back for longer visit in the future!

  4. We recently visited this very good quality newly built B and B and occupied two rooms. Both rooms have wonderful commanding views to the sea and the Isle of Mull. The rooms were extremely well fitted out with all ones needs catered for, further more we were most impressed with the luxury bathrooms in both bedrooms. On arrival we were given a very warm welcome together with afternoon tea and cakes. We would not hesitate in recommending Willow Brae and would be very pleased to return in the future.

Really comfortable and spacious accommodation. Linda was happy to serve breakfast very early so that I could fit in a long day’s walk; also her fund of local knowledge helped with planning the walk. We hope to return soon.

We have done so much since we stayed with you for those two very happy nights in early September but we haven’t forgotten how speciall it was to be with you and in Lochalin. Thank you for your warm and friendly hospitality, delicious breakfasts, for the evening chats – and the whisky! We hope you are able to get on with your plans for the house but it was very nice just the way things are now. The view is stunning! It is nice to think we might return ro meet again somewhere!
    With fond regards and thanks,
    Althea and Gordon

Thank you so much Linda for your amazing welcome. Willow Brae is a 5* B&B. The picture above was the view from our bedroom window. The hot bath was most welcome after a long wet “boggy” scottish walk. We could not have asked for more and will most certainly be back.

A big thank you to Linda for a very enjoyable few days in August
After a lengthy delay, we arrived at Willow Brae some 3 1/2 hours later than planned
Nonetheless, Linda came up trumps and provided soup and a hot meal – having stayed up late for our arrival
Throughout the few days in our short stay, she exceeded our expectations with her friendly and welcome hosting, leaving no stone unturned
She even managed to provide some long lost family in the nearby village and someone to look after the ferry to Mull in case it broke down
We found the entire trip very enjoyable and we wished we could have stayed longer

We have been in a lot of B&Bs throughout Scotland and other countries. But none B&B was like Willow Brae – and Linda! The accomodation is extraordinary – Linda is gorgeous. A perfect B&B you will recognize at special tiny little things, for example for men: the mirror in the bathroom has to hang in a normal height and the light has to come from above, for the shaving (men know what I mean). Willow Brae has those things more than one and therefore it is a perfect accomodation with an outstanding view over the Sound of Mull. And Linda? Her kindness, her warm heart, her helping Hands and especially her sense of humor are just brillant. We love to talk with her, we love to breakfast with her – and we love to quiz with her (Linda, you know what I mean…). At the end we left a fantastic place to relax and to explore a superb environment. What followed wasn´t nearly as good as Lochaline. We have to return one day, it is a must! (14/15.09.2018)
